The Professional Conference Organisers Association (PCOA) has a new team member in a new role as it eyes future growth.

Well-known industry figure Megan Crum will lead the team at PCOA in the just-created general manager role for the association.

Crum headed up the business events team at ChristchurchNZ until mid-2024 and, before that, she ran her own PCO, Conference Innovators, for more than 26 years. Conference Innovators has continued following Crum’s departure in 2021.

“We are delighted to welcome Megan into this role,” said PCOA Council Management Committee members, Barry Neame, Paula Leishman and Karen Sainsbury, in a joint statement.

“Her appointment signals a significant growth step forward for PCOA as we continue to expand our reach across Australia and New Zealand.

“Megan’s deep understanding of the business events landscape and her collaborative spirit make her the ideal person to lead our team, support members, business partners and develop strategies that benefit the entire business events sector.”

Originally from Australia, Crum will lead PCOA’s existing team of three, Maxine Tod, Cindy Axisa and Michelle Dick, from Christchurch, New Zealand, where she has been based for more than three decades.

Crum begins her new role on October 7, ahead of PCOA’s annual conference, taking place in Christchurch from December 7 to 9 at Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre.
