The beachside property is located 20 minutes from Durban’s international airport and offers purpose-built event space for up to 500 delegates. The convention centre also boasts its own dedicated kitchen.
The beach property is part of another first for Club Med – its first dual location offering. Collectively known as Club Med Beach & Safari, the latter half of the proposition is a 75-room property in one of South Africa’s Big Five safari reserves.
The two locations are a 45-minute flight apart, with groups able to book a charter flight through Club Med.
Group packages will focus on meeting at the beach property with the safari park offering a more experiential element for delegates. The safari property will not have event space.
“We are thrilled to announce the long-awaited sales opening of Club Med Beach & Safari, South Africa, a brand-new resort and destination poised to make a mark on business travel for Australians,” said Club Med’s head of meetings and events in the Pacific, Julie Voultepsis.
“Boasting a state-of-the-art conference centre and business facilities designed for up to 500 pax, Club Med Beach & Safari provides an opportunity to create lasting impressions in one of the most sought-after destinations in the world.
“Club Med Beach & Safari expands Club Med’s ability to deliver unique and inspiring event experiences across contrasting yet equally captivating landscapes.
“We look forward to servicing the newfound demand we’re confident it will attract,” said Voultepsis.
Some of the finer details of the offering for groups at the new dual location properties are still to be revealed.
