Microhire and the Royal International Convention Centre (Royal ICC) at Brisbane Showgrounds have extended their partnership, with more gear to be installed.

With a multi-year renewal of the exclusive production partnership, which has been running since 2013, Microhire will be adding significant amounts of LED into the venue, alongside new audio and lighting fixtures.

The hero LED installation will be a 24m wide moveable LED wall in the main hall space, with the 12 million pixel screen mounted on 60m of tracking.

Alongside this, LED walls measuring 4m by 2.25m will be installed into smaller meeting rooms, with LED also to be installed in foyer areas.

In terms of audio, a new line array system will be installed in the main hall, offering multiple audio configurations, including for a plenary set up or to create multiple individual audio zones.

More than 300 intelligent moving lights will also be installed in the venue.

“We are honoured to continue our journey with Royal ICC,” said Microhire’s regional general manager, Karsten Richert.

“This renewal reflects our shared vision to stay at the forefront of event technology.

“Clients can now expect an even more immersive and adaptable experience, supported by a technical team that brings creativity and precision to every show.”

Brisbane Showgrounds general manager of venue sales and marketing, Jago Coyle, said Microhire understood the unique demands of the Royal ICC.

“Our partnership has thrived since its inception in 2013, and we’re proud to see it evolve to meet the future of live events,” said Coyle.

“The technology investment will allow us to offer even more creative and impactful experiences for our clients, reinforcing the Brisbane Showgrounds as a premier destination for events of all sizes.”

The new tech install will begin in late 2025.
