Expertise Events has taken over the co-located Home Cooking Show and the Cake, Bake & Sweets Show, which are held in convention centres in Melbourne and Sydney each year.
In 2024, the Cake, Bake & Sweets Show had more than 32,000 attendees, while in 2023, the Home Cooking Show saw more than 30,000 visitors through its doors.
“The Cake, Bake & Sweets Show and Home Cooking Show are a natural fit within our event family. With our expertise in growing major consumer events, we’re excited to bring fresh energy and innovation to these beloved shows,” said Expertise Events founder, Gary Fitz-Roy.
“We can see an opportunity to really grow these events through evolving content, talent and delivering consistent value for the businesses involved.”
The acquisition represents a significant move for Expertise Events further into the F&B space, with the company already running the B2B WINETECH and WINEPRO events.
Although these are the first two traditional B2C shows for Expertise Events in the F&B space, the business does have considerable consumer show experience with exhibitions in other areas, including as organiser of Oz Comic-Con and the Craft and Quilt Fair.
Expertise Events also runs the Robertson Potato Festival in the New South Wales Southern Highlands, although this event appears to have been put on indefinite hiatus.
