With a concentration on standalone and unique function venues in Sydney – from several Doltone House venues to Luna Park – this is the first in-house contract for a Sydney hotel for Microhire in some time.
The 189-room five-star hotel has 10 event spaces, collectively offering nearly 1,000m2 of space, including the standout Water Room, which looks down the length of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, with the hotel located just beside it.
Taking over from ExpertAV in January, Microhire is bringing in a lot of AV equipment into Pier One’s spaces.
In the hero event space of the hotel, the Water Room, a 10m ultra-wide LED wall is going in – without disrupting the room’s expansive water views. The room has also benefitted from 36 new kinetic lights and 48 moving LED lights alongside a 4K tracking video camera, powered by artificial intelligence.
The other large event space, the Dawes Point Room, has received high-definition laser projectors paired with high-contrast projection screens for optimal performance in daylight and colour-changing and pixel-mappable LED ceiling lights.
In other meeting spaces, coloured LED wash lights, a portable 135-inch HD LED wall, new audio systems and digital signage systems are being installed.

In other parts of Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific, Microhire is well established in high-end hotels, having contracts with the likes of the W Melbourne, W Brisbane, the JW Marriott Auckland and various Marriott properties in Fiji.
