Major education event to return to Sydney
Australia’s largest annual education event EduTECH will return to Sydney for a three-year stint from 2025.

The conference and exhibition attracts more than 10,000 stakeholders in the education sector and includes over 350 speakers and more than 400 exhibitors.

Since beginning in 2011, the event has bounced between Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne. Sydney last hosted the event between 2017 and 2019. Virtual events were held in 2020 and 2021 and Melbourne has been hosting since.

The NSW Government worked with Business Events Sydney to bring the event back to Sydney. It will be held at ICC Sydney.

“We hosted the first event back in 2011, and while it’s moved around the country since then, it’s great to have it back in the city where it all began,” said the NSW minister for industry and trade, Anoulack Chanthivong.

“NSW has a diverse EdTech sector – we’re home to 273 companies that are transforming the way teachers teach and students learn and we look forward to showcasing many of their innovative products and services at the expo next year.”

The event is expected to have a considerable economic impact for Sydney during its three-year hosting period.

“Securing the EduTECH Congress and Expo for the next three years is a great outcome, expected to inject $24 million into the NSW economy,” said David Harris, the state’s acting minister for jobs and tourism.

“Business events like these not only help develop the sector, they inject revenue into businesses across the visitor economy.”

A NSW EdTech Summit will coincide with the national EduTECH conference and exhibition for the three years it is in Sydney.

“The anchoring of the EduTECH Congress and Expo with the NSW EdTech Summit in Sydney for the next three years will generate innovation and productivity outcomes for years to come,” said BESydney CEO Lyn Lewis-Smith.

“The need to skill, reskill and upskill our future workforce is crucial if we are to be at the forefront of transitioning our nation’s economy.

“Sydney, as a digital innovation leader in the education sector, is the perfect location to showcase our state’s brightest minds and achievements in the field, attract more students to our excellent institutions and to grow local and APAC collaboration opportunities.”

The 2025 event will be held on June 12 and 13.
