Hilton set to debut in Tasmania
Hilton will open its first hotel in Australia’s island state before the end of this year.

The DoubleTree by Hilton Hobart is currently under construction within walking distance to the CBD and is expected to open later this year.

“We are thrilled to bring the DoubleTree by Hilton experience to Hobart,” said Hilton’s area vice president and head of Australasia, Paul Hutton.

“This hotel is not only a testament to our commitment to expanding our footprint in Australasia, but also our dedication to providing exceptional hospitality in prime locations.

“With the property situated closely to the CBD and the waterfront, our guests will have the best of Hobart right at their doorstep.”

Partnering with developer Fragrance Group, the hotel will have 206 rooms, two meeting rooms, an indoor swimming pool, a fitness centre and a restaurant and bar.

“We are delighted to partner with Fragrance Group to bring our award-winning brand DoubleTree by Hilton to Hobart,” said Tushar Raniga, Hilton’s regional director of development for Australasia.

“This signing highlights our strategy of positioning the right brands in the right locations, with the right partner and DoubleTree by Hilton Hobart is set to become a landmark in the city offering our guests a unique and immersive experience of Hobart’s rich culture and history.”

There are currently six DoubleTree by Hilton properties in Australia, with two in Perth and one each in Melbourne, Darwin, Cairns and Alice Springs.
