Other hotels in the management deal are Mercure Sydney, Ibis Sydney World Square and Mercure Canberra.
While Trilogy will manage over 1,000 rooms for the Schwartz Family Company in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory, other hotels owned by the Schwartz Family aren’t included in the deal, including the likes of Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour.
Trilogy Hotels was founded very recently, in December 2023, by three senior figures in Australia’s hospitality industry – Scott Boyes, Grant Alchin and Tony Ryan. Both Boyes and Alchin have previously held senior roles with Accor. Originally a lawyer, Ryan has held board roles in the hotel and tourism industry in Australia.
Trilogy Hotels will manage operations for the four hotels, including providing access to operational systems, training and team development.
“It’s an incredible moment for Trilogy Hotels. This long-term agreement is a true meeting of the minds. We each share a passion for the hotel industry and understand what hospitality can achieve when everyone is playing to their strengths,” says Boyes, who is the CEO of Trilogy Hotels.
Dr Jerry Schwartz, who took over management of the Schwartz Family Company from his parents, says he has a long working relationship with the founders of Trilogy Hotels.
“I have known and worked closely with Scott Boyes and his colleagues at Trilogy Hotels for over two decades and they bring an outstanding level of experience, professionalism, and understanding of owners’ needs,” said Schwartz.
“This will give us the best of both worlds – greater flexibility in terms of managing the four hotels, complemented by a franchise agreement with Accor to plug into their global distribution systems.
“Each of the four hotels that we’ve signed to Trilogy Hotels is different in location, style, markets and operation, and therefore I will look forward to Trilogy Hotels designing individual strategies to maximise the potential and returns for the assets,” he said.
“Trilogy is excited to welcome and support each of the four existing general managers, their teams and guests,” said Ryan, Trilogy Hotels’ executive chair.
“Our delivery of exceptional outcomes for Schwartz Family Company will be a catalyst for our business growth in Australia and New Zealand.”
