I was involved from the initial process working alongside the client to win the business. It really was not a tough sell when they decided to take the island sole use. We worked closely for the year leading up to the event to ensure that everything discussed was delivered. Our on island team played an exceptional role on making the weekend the huge success it was.


I thought it was special to see the company logo beaming off the iconic Hayman Pool and accommodation on the Friday night welcome cocktail event.

The whole weekend was full of special moments as both the client and resort really pushed the envelope on delivering an exceptional event.


We were hoping to run both evening events outside due to the guest numbers. Unfortunately, being located in the Whitsundays the weather was completely out of our control. We had some difficulties predicting what we should do daily for that evening event. On Saturday night Dental Corporation hosted the Roaming Gala Dinner throughout three different locations across the property. We had transformed our Azure Restaurant into a seafood lover’s dream; Fontaine Restaurant was transformed into a glamorous formal setting; and finally we hosted the each of the three groups in our Central Lobby which was transformed into a rainforest with all the sights and sounds of a real jungle.

The entire group started and ended the evening in the Entertainment Centre to the sounds of the Beven Addinsall Band.


On Saturday night we had to go wet weather which concerned us as we had envisioned dinner on the beach and dinner in the rainforest. As Dental Corporation had the entire island privately, this allowed all of the Hayman team to collectively think outside the box. Our main reception area has never been used for a group event before. We completely transformed the area into what you would expect dining in the rainforest would feel like.
The weather is something that is beyond our control however, we did overcome this as a challenge by having all plans rehearsed and implemented if required. m


Our Hayman Island conference was very successful. I believe there were several reasons why:
Nothing was left to chance. Between the Hayman team and us, we thoroughly considered every element.
The organising team at Hayman were fantastic, very professional and a pleasure to work with – nothing was too much trouble and as mentioned previously, when wet weather options had to come into play, as with all elements of the conference, the arrangements were handled very professionally from concept stage through to delivery.
The Hayman service from the moment our delegates arrived at Hamilton Airport to arrival at Hayman Island, greeted on arrival, beautifully managed at check in and then throughout the entire weekend was exceptional.
The location is divine. That coupled with beautiful views and gardens throughout the resort put everyone in a great frame of mind.
