Port Douglas

Pleasure port

If there’s one destination tailor-made to the meetings and incentive travel sector then it has to be Port Douglas.

For more than two decades Port Douglas has been a market leader in the corporate meetings and incentive travel sector -– hosting groups from near and far in a style all of its own.
Beautiful beaches, high-quality resorts, stylish restaurants, and a laid-back feel that encourages you to slow down and smell the roses all combine to give visitors an experience like no other available in Tropical North Queensland.
Experiences here can be as high-end as you want them to be or as low key as you like. Port Douglas visitors can stay in five-star luxury, swim up to a pool bar, dine in award-winning restaurants, shop in boutiques, or simply don thongs and t-shirts and slip into one of the local pubs for a counter meal of fish and chips. In Port Douglas whatever you do and however you do it can be equally enjoyable.
Port Douglas is a mix of brand-name resort hotels, apartments, pubs and restaurants, boutiques and art galleries, a working marina, beaches, golf courses – all tied together by a close-knit community that recognises the value of the tourism dollar.
Helping spread the word about the beauty and value of the region is Port Douglas Incentives.
Port Douglas Incentives is a self funded, specialist advisory group of dedicated business tourism and events specialists with commercial interests and operations in the Douglas section of the Cairns Regional Council area. The group formed as a result of a collective determination to promote the Douglas region, ensuring Port Douglas and the Daintree continues to be at the forefront of being an aspirational conference and incentive travel destination.

Port Douglas Catering & Events

One of the best in the business in this part of the world, Port Douglas Catering & Events has been established in the region for more than 20 years. The company is a specialist offsite caterer which has the know-how and expertise to create beautiful venues in some pretty unique locations.
Among their most popular are events at Rex Smeal Park located at the mouth of the Dickson Inlet overlooking the Coral Sea and with the Daintree mountain range as a backdrop. Pre-dinner drinks at The Point at sunset precede dinner under a giant fig tree where round tables are set for 10 complete with black line and black chair covers.
A dance floor can be erected underneath a mirrorball and mirrored chandelier suspended from the fig tree above.
The company offers numerous other spaces around Port Douglas including the historic Sugar Wharf which also has views of the Dickson Inlet and Daintree mountains range.

Flames of the Forest

Another popular event option in Port Douglas is the award-winning Flames of the Forest. Just 10 minutes from Port Douglas, Flames of the Forest is an offsite dining option in the rainforest that really has to be experienced to be appreciated and understood.
In 2011, Flames completed installation of a new lighting design into the marquee, together with swathes of crystal curtains, candle scones to the marquee legs, and a series of custom-designed bud light stars into the canopy of the rainforest to create a spectacular stage backdrop. And it has certainly paid off with the venue experiencing rave reviews from all who attend. Also offering alternative theming options including traditional Aussie BBQ’s, stylised blue moon elegance and cane cutters balls, after dinner chill out lounges, spectacular rainforest and sugar cane reveals, blazing fire trails, pyrotechnics and fire logos, Flames of the Forest is a versatile and diverse venue.
With the comfort of luxury bathrooms, padded chairs and eye-catching custom designed table décor, Flames of the Forest also offers a wide range of entertainment options from the off beat to the big name and everything in between with the additional benefit of no noise restrictions.
