Singapore – Far East Hospitality has announced the opening of AMOY, Singapore’s newest boutique hotel and the first to incorporate a museum that traces the footsteps of early immigrants from China.

Guests will enter the 37-room hotel via Fuk Tak Chi, Singapore’s first street museum formerly a temple and headquarters for the Hakka and Cantonese communities in the 1800s. The rooms are designed with distinct blueprints, with a Chinese family name inscribed on the door.

Located within Far East Square in the CBD, AMOY also extends airport transfers “just like how early migrants were picked up by their loved ones upon arriving on Singapore’s shores”, according to Far East Hospitality CEO, Arthur Kiong.

“We want to tell the Singapore story and create the bespoke journey so that our guests can immerse in the discovery of intriguing Singaporean heritage,” he said.

AMOY is located close to Raffles Place MRT station, and a 10-minute walk to shopping and leisure areas such as Clarke Quay, Boat Quay and Chinatown.
