Meeting designer from the Netherlands and author of Into the Heart of Meetings, Eric de Groot, is visiting Australia in October for a Meeting Design training course.
The course will focus on interaction in all its design aspects. Topics include: the role of the venue, room layout, the decisive first five minutes of the program, and how to optimise the content. In addition, course participants will learn how to cure major meeting headaches like: long personal introduction rounds, boring content, official formalities and poor speakers.
Australian meetings industry veteran, Elizabeth Rich, says Eric’s creative presentation about the mental chemistry of meetings was the most popular session at ICCA’s Forum for Young Professionals at EIBTM in Barcelona last year.
“His course should stimulate all organisers to lift the bar when it comes to developing compelling and potent conference programs,” she said.|
Meetings & Events Australia delegates at its 2014 annual conference were spellbound at de Groot’s presentation.
The course runs from October 9-10 on the Sydney campus of the Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School. The cost is $1200pp, with each second registration from participants from the same organisation entitled to a 20 per cent discount.
