GLOBAL – Pacific World’s new “Opening Eyes” corporate social responsibility programme allows delegates and association members to get directly involved with local charities and MGOs to give something back to the local community in the destination they are visiting.
The initiative offers a range of activities such as workshops or team-building exercises which are tailored to benefit the locals in the cities where Pacific World organises events, while creating a memorable experience for participants.
Examples of these activities include taking three hours out of a conference schedule to build bicycles for children, or working with a charity to plant trees.
“Opening Eyes is a way for our attendees to make a positive impact on the destinations that they visit; all too often delegates travelling to MICE events or congresses are not provided with the opportunity to give something back to the local community. This new initiative aims to literally open the eyes of attendees and allow them to contribute tangibly towards making a difference,” Pacific World global managing director Herve Joseph-Antoine said.
Pacific World will also be organising donation collections at larger conferences and congresses to allow delegates to contribute at a local level.
Pacific World destinations include Spain, Portugal, Greece, France, Monaco, United Kingdom, China, India, Hong Kong, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, South Korea and the Southern Africa region.
