Ovolo Hotels will make vaccination compulsory for all of its staff and offer incentives to future guests to be fully vaccinated.
In what the brand is calling the “Vax. Pact” Ovolo is promising all staff at their Australian hotels will have had a first vaccine dose by October 31 and be fully vaccinated by the year’s end.
“Ovolo’s employees are its most valued assets, they are the heart and soul of delivering the unique Ovolo experience,” said Founder & CEO of Ovolo Group Girish Jhunjhnuwala.
“The immediate future of tourism and hospitality depends on high vaccination rates, and as a business we have a responsibility to our industry to drive this – Vax. Pact. is the first step but, within our power, we will do whatever it takes!”
The brand says it is helping staff to get vaccinated by offering time off and flexibility to attend vaccine appointments and covering any expenses involved in the vaccination process. Ovolo will also consider incentives for staff if necessary.
All of the brand’s Australian leadership team has had at least one dose of the vaccine. In other countries where Ovolo operates vaccination of staff is already well underway with at least 70 percent of employees in Hong Kong and Bali fully vaccinated.
In terms of guests, Ovolo will be offering those who are able to show Government proof of full vaccination dining offers, competitions and additional Ovolo Perks.
The brand operates seven distinctive properties around Australia, including a new offering in Melbourne, Ovolo South Yarra, which opened earlier this year. Many of the properties have space for events, such as the Piper Rooms at Ovolo Woolloomooloo, which has capacity for 350 standing.
