MEA introduces AEA
LINDA P GAUNT
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
After many years of research, financial investment and hard work by many people it gives me enormous pleasure to tell you about the Australian Events Academy (AEA).
The AEA is the education and training arm of MEA and will be officially launched on February 21, 2013, at the SMC Conference and Function Centre. For myself as CEO of MEA this is a long-awaited initiative that has finally transpired. The Academy will be the preeminent education and training provider in Australia for up-to-date, innovative, industry specific and inspiring education for the events industry.
Regardless if you are looking to get started in the events industry, transform your career within the industry, or study at a higher level, AEA has something for you. Our full qualifications, short courses and industry specific updates will cover every aspect of events education.
For companies and corporates we have a training solution for you. Trained AEA personnel can transform your existing training programs through Customisation, write training programs from scratch including undertaking a training needs analysis, and offer you qualified advice in regard to your staff training needs. Companies who have a small event team, or individuals, may wish to join one of our public programs to ensure they work smarter for the benefit of themselves and their company.
At the AEA our focus is professionalism. We all know that a professional is a person who is paid to undertake a specialised set of tasks and to complete them for a fee. The traditional professions are doctors, engineers, lawyers and architects. With event management also being a profession AEA recognises the need to put education and training in place to establish this and drive the perception of the events industry in a forward manner. We are providing the tools that you can use to your advantage.
You are invited to attend our launch on February 21 and hear about how you can “be up skilled”, “up skill your staff”, receive “recognition of your prior learning”, and much more.
