Two of the industry’s associations have lined up more talent and knowledge for their national conferences later this year.

Meetings and Events Australia (MEA) has locked in Holly Ransom, Founder and CEO of strategic advisory firm Emergent, and prolific speaker, content curator and interviewer, as the host of its national conference Evolve on September 8.

Ransom has worked with and interviewed the likes of Barack Obama, Condoleezza Rice, Sir Richard Branson and Nobel Prize Winner Muhammad Yunus and will also deliver the closing keynote of the conference exploring the mindsets, methods of principles needed to harness possibility during this period of uncertainty.

Meanwhile the Professional Conference Organisers Association (PCOA) has lined up a legal workshop with legal expert Matt Crouch dealing with navigating contracts for their December conference in Tasmania.

His session will look at all kinds of contracts applicable to the events industry, including those for clients, exhibitors, sponsorship, and speakers. The session will also address delegate Ts and Cs, and issues around contractual clauses dealing with cancellation, postponement and force majeure. Crouch will also talk through issues which prevent organisers relying on insurance and answer any other legal question attendees have.
