When Trevor Gardiner, CEO of EventsAIR, got calls in March 2020 from several distraught clients having to cancel their major events, he started sketching out what an online event might look like. Thanks to the dedicated EventsAIR development team, Trevor’s vision was put on the drawing board and transformed into reality in record breaking speed.

What they have learnt over the last five months is that necessity has driven technology to innovate and adapt to current market conditions. Although we all wish that we could run in-person events, the reality is that to keep connected with delegates, prospects, and clients, we need to adapt to a new style of event delivery. EventsAIR appreciates the hardship and pain that the events industry is going through and in their own way, hope that solutions like OnAIR can offer some relief on the road to recovery.

The journey of OnAIR began in their launch in May 2020, with some early adopters transforming their in-person events to OnAIR. These businesses were the pioneers in a new virtual world and what they discovered is that by bringing their events online, they could stay connected with their customers as well as increase their audience reach.

Thanks to these businesses, the team was able to obtain some great feedback on the type of interaction attendees wanted online. These suggestions and feedback helped them on the journey of evolving the OnAIR solution by adding a range of features to get virtual attendees connected and to be able to conduct business in a secure online environment. These features included one-to-one meeting, exhibitor hall, networking groups, meeting hub, live polls, live Q&A and ePosters.

No longer was an online experience just a series of webinars but now an interactive timeline that would keep virtual audiences engaged.  As the OnAIR platform grew, so has their audience with a major milestone of 100,000 attendees having used the platform around the globe, which equates to hundreds of virtual events over a three-month period.

One of the key elements of an online event is how content is delivered in a professional and high-quality format, especially if you are moving a large event like a 15,000-person conference with multiple speakers and exhibitors. To cater for this, the OnAIR solution provides a range of different delivery methods around video content including live broadcasts, pre-recorded or on demand content.

Their soon-to-be released version three of OnAIR will take the user experience even further by introducing AIRCast and AIRCast Studio. These solutions will deliver a staging environment where an event organiser can introduce speakers, presenters and audience members with ease, plus create breakout rooms where audience members can interact and engage with each other – all in one secure OnAIR online environment.
