There really is nothing like Australia for business events, with spectacular destinations, stunning hotels and resorts, quality food and wine, and highly experienced personnel working in the sector.

As you read this there are 100 of the world’s leading buyers of incentive travel products and international media representatives experiencing Australia’s offerings in the business event sector as part of Tourism Australia’s Dreamtime program.

Business sessions in Melbourne on December 9 and 10 are being followed by educationals to destinations including Sydney, the NT, Adelaide, Tropical North Queensland, and the Gold Coast.

Already in 2013, Australia has played host to the 1000-strong Herbalife China Leadership Vacation on the Gold Coast, while Sydney hosted the 3000-person Perfect China 2013 Leadership Seminar. In late 2012 Melbourne hosted the Amway India Leadership Seminar for 3891 delegates (see page 18), and Sydney played host to the Amway Malaysia Leadership Seminar for 750 delegates.

Organisers of these events were glowing in their comments on each city’s ability to host their programs. Personal assist to the president of sales and operations and director of business management of Perfect China, Kent Yu, said Sydney’s safety and its multicultural, friendly residents were important factors in selecting the city for the incentive program.

Mr Yu said Sydney’s natural beauty combined with its modern infrastructure and its experience in catering for the incentive market were other clear reasons why the group chose Sydney for its 2013 program. President of Herbalife China, Jerry Li, was complimentary of the Gold Coast’s ability to host its leadership vacation program, with the destination reflecting their company culture of simple, fun and magical.

“We were attracted by its world-renowned culture of fun, its people, natural beauty, and its proximity to China,” Mr Li said.
