Canberra on Show is aimed at local meeting planners and event organisers, offering a showcase of 41 industry suppliers and product within the national capital.

The event takes place tomorrow morning between 9.30 and midday at Albert Hall.

Exhibitors include the likes of the National Convention Centre Canberra, the National Museum of Australia, major and boutique hotel brands including Hyatt, Crowne Plaza, QT and Doma Hotels and some of the region’s newest product, including venue The Marion, which opened earlier this year, and Midnight Hotel, which opened just before the pandemic shut down travel and events.

“Canberra on Show is an opportunity for local meeting and event planners to familiarise or re-familiarise themselves with everything Canberra has to offer for business events big and small, and to gain a better understanding of our destination by connecting directly with local operators,” said Canberra Convention Bureau’s head of marketing, Kimberley Roberts-Salee, Bureau.

“Local meeting planners, whether in a full-time role or part-time job function, exercise incredible influence on where their meetings take place. Canberra on Show encourages them to consider Canberra for their next event and contributes to bringing incredible economic benefits to our destination.”

The event will include virtual tours, arcade games, local spirits tastings and a photo booth, with local operators also providing the catering, coffee and production for the event.

The bureau is also offering a smorgasbord of prizes to attract planners to the event, including hotel stays, dining vouchers, local produce hampers and a $1,000 Qantas travel voucher. Attendance is free for up to four representatives per organisation.

Event registrations can be completed on the Canberra Convention Bureau website.
