The Crystalbrook Collection has completed its takeover of former Art Series hotel The Fantauzzo, retaining the property’s signature artistic flair and putting everyone on a first name basis with its inspiration.

Renamed Crystalbrook Vincent, after artist Vincent Fantauzzo whose distinctive work is featured over 500 times throughout the 166-room six-storey hotel, the property is part of the Howard Smith Wharves precinct in central Brisbane and offers three event spaces, which can be combined to host up to 200 people.

“Our initial focus is to elevate the hotel’s focus on sustainability,” said Crystalbrook CEO Geoff York.

“We’re introducing a single-use plastic-free environment and 100% waste-free bathrooms where everything is reusable, recyclable or biodegradable.

“We’re working to minimise our food carbon footprint by ensuring that at least 80 percent of all produce served within the hotel is sourced within a three-hour radius and we’re embracing technology to reduce the need for waste, such as paperless check in and check out and in-room tablet control centres,” he said.

The hotel’s new General Manager will be Jeremy Nordkamp, who moves down from Crystalbrook’s first Cairns hotel Crystalbrook Riley. He was also the opening GM for the Carlile in Brisbane.

With the opening of Crystalbrook Vincent, the Crystalbrook Collection now has the largest stock of independent five-star hotel rooms in Australia.
