With the end of JobKeeper imminent, the Business Events Council of Australia (BECA) has dialled up its lobbying to another level and has called out to industry to urgently respond to its latest survey.

This survey aims to:

• Assess the current operating environment for business events businesses, including how staffing arrangements have been managed.

• Assess the impact of government support mechanisms and those that will best assist during 2021-22.

• Measure the level of business confidence and future business expectations.

BECA wants to hear from employers, freelancers and contractors representing an organisation or individual associated with the supply chain that contributes to the creation and delivery of business events throughout Australia.

BECA says: “We need your help to strengthen our evidence base around the current state of the industry and its future prospects.”

This survey is likely the most important yet, as the Commonwealth Government contemplates the need for ongoing industry-specific support from April 2021 onwards.

The survey has been approved by BECA’s independent chair, Dr Vanessa Findlay, who will also manage the analysis of aggregated responses into key findings.

BECA has asked that only one person from each organisation complete the survey. Please complete the survey by February 24, 2021.
