Dorsett Gold Coast, which reached practical completion of its construction within The Star complex in South East Queensland last week, will open on Boxing Day.
The 313-room hotel is well placed to take advantage of event space within The Star as well as the nearby Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.
“Here on the Coast, we’re thrilled to be the very first Dorsett Hotel in Australia and offer a new, young, vibrant brand to our city,” said the hotel’s General Manager Michael Foster.
The hotel is located within a new 53-storey tower, which is also nearing completion of its construction.
The master plan for The Star Gold Coast, includes a further four towers, of which the first is already under construction.
“The Star is delighted to welcome Dorsett to the Gold Coast and are very excited that world recognised brand Dorsett has chosen the Gold Coast and us here at The Star Gold Coast to launch its first hotel in Australia,” said Mark Hodge, General Manager of Hotels & Residences at The Star Gold Coast.
“We are looking confidently ahead to a long-awaited return to normal operations and will be working closely with Dorsett, as they get ready to welcome first guests to the hotel.”
Dorsett Hotels also has new-build hotels in the pipeline for Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth.
