A new marketing campaign is set to shine a light on the Hunter Region and boost the regional visitor economy.
The $270,000 Altogether Perfect campaign aims to attract major conferences and meetings to the region.
Industry provided critical funding to kick-start the campaign with an investment of $135,000, which was then matched by the NSW Government’s tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW.
Newcastle Convention Bureau’s business events & conventions developer, Georgia Murphy, says industry support and government funding are vital to the future growth of the region.
“Funding is absolutely imperative in order to grow the business events market in the region and without it we wouldn’t be able to run the campaign.
“Over the next 14 months we’ll be educating the market about the region’s diversity and geographic proximity.
“We’re hoping to grow the association, corporate and incentive markets and increase meetings business by 10 per cent across the region.”
The campaign is a joint initiative between Destination NSW and regional partners Destination Port Stephens, Newcastle Convention Bureau, and Hunter Valley Wine and Tourism Association.
Visitor Economy Hunter chairman, Will Creedon, says the campaign will allow for cross promotion between different markets as well as pre and post touring opportunities
“Altogether Perfect celebrates the combined attributes of our region, offering the best of city, country and coast experiences for the business traveller.
“A comprehensive calendar of business events has been included in the marketing strategy and will allow for sales missions to take place in capital cities as well as participation in a number of major tradeshows including the Associations Forum – Canberra, Executive Assistant Network showcases in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, and major partner of Inspire Ex – Sydney.”
