Accor has debuted two upgraded properties this month – Manly Pacific in Sydney’s Northern Beaches has completed two years of refurbishment, while Ibis Styles Cairns has been transformed into Mercure Cairns.

Manly Pacific starts 2023 fully refurbished

The 213-room Manly Pacific – M Gallery on the beachfront in Manly has fully unveiled its $30 million upgrade for 2023.

All rooms and suites – including The Infinity Residence with a 100m2 private terrace and nine ocean facing Coastal Suites which come with an option of a Peleton bike – have been redesigned and the hotel has added a new lobby bar called 55 North and a new rooftop pool and sundeck.

The property has already released details of its revitalised event space, as reported by micenet in late 2022, which runs to over 1,000m2 across nine rooms.

“We’re showcasing Manly’s creative community throughout the hotel, from displaying the works of local photographers to heroising local produce on our plates and featuring artisan craft pieces throughout the property,” said Manly Pacific’s general manager Dylan Cole.

“At every touch point, we’ve considered the extra level of detail guests now expect from a great hotel experience, with a key focus on sustainability initiatives, such as smarter energy-saving room controls to electric car charging stations.

“We’ve brought a new level of sophistication to Manly without losing the quintessential way of life of the Northern Beaches, from its laid-back lifestyle and strong connection to the sea and wellbeing.”

Mercure brand comes to Cairns

In Cairns, Accor’s Ibis Styles property has also undergone a multimillion dollar renovation to emerge as the 75-room Mercure Cairns.

“We are excited to be working with Accor to bring Mercure Cairns to Far North Queensland and feel the refurbishment of this asset will provide a new look to the Cairns market for our leisure and corporate guests,” said Murray Emerton, manager of Mandala Hospitality Group, which owns the property.

Mercure Cairns is located 1.3km from Cairns Convention Centre, offering a mid-scale price point for conference delegates. The convention centre is set to open its 10,000m2 expansion in May, which will boost its capacity to host multiple business events simultaneously.
