Fresh Catering is set to open a new restaurant and bar, The Governors Table Bar & Dining, at The Museum of Sydney.

Due to open next week on Monday June 16, The Governors Table Bar & Dining has been touted as a foodie’s haven – open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The new restaurant and bar draws inspiration from its remarkable historical connection as the site of the first Government House in Australia.

The space has been completely transformed by leading designer inochi DesignLife. Inspired by the history, design and architecture of the site, the venue will have a contemporary feel blended with cool, earthy finishes. A key feature to the new dining room is an enormous 16-seat banquet table.

Internationally acclaimed Australian chef, Tim Bryan, will head-up the kitchen and serve modern Australian cuisine that highlights local produce.

The menu – mostly shared plates – celebrates the rich heritage of the historic  site by reviving cookery techniques of the era, such as pickling and smoking, albeit with a modern day culinary overhaul.

Fresh Catering managing director, Peter McCloskey, is looking forward to expanding the company’s presence in Sydney’s restaurant and dining scene.

The modern function spaces at the Museum of Sydney offer clients a unique and inspiring space to meet.  The AGL Theatre seats up to 126 people, the exclusive dining area of the Viewing Cube is perfect for private dinners or cocktail parties, and the MOS foyer caters for up to 250 people.

In addition to the recent acquisition of Museum of Sydney, Fresh Catering is also the exclusive caterers to Museum of Sydney events, as well as other Sydney Living Museums venues such as Vaucluse House Tearooms and Elizabeth Bay House.
