Christchurch has won the rights to host two major international conferences in 2017 and 2018, bringing 1200 delegates and more than $3 million to the economy. InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has signed a management agreement to develop the 200-room Crowne Plaza Christchurch, signalling a commitment to Christchurch’s economic revival. In Christchurch as part of their official visit to New Zealand, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge today officially opened the city’s new Botanic Gardens Visitor Centre.
