QT Hotels & Resorts, part of Amalgamated Holdings Limited’s (AHL) hospitality portfolio, is set to expand its repertoire of design hotels into Canberra.
Due to open in early April, QT Canberra is located in the emerging cultural precinct of New Acton and set in the iconic Rydges Lakeside Hotel, which has been redesigned by renowned Australian designer Nic Graham, to embrace technology, distinctive art, and cutting edge design.
The new space celebrates the building’s history, as a place where Prime Ministers have been both made and ousted, through bold design, an eclectic mix of artefacts, bespoke furniture, and a daring use of colour and art.
The hotel will feature 200 guest suites, all kitted out with designer décor and the savvy mod-cons today’s business traveller would expect of a luxury property.
QT Canberra will also offer a number of exclusive retreats with secret rooms, private hideaways and secluded spaces (all with fully stocked bars and a snack menu) that can be utilised as private meeting space.
Other properties currently in the portfolio for QT Hotels and Resorts include the flagship QT Sydney, QT Gold Coast and Port Douglas resorts, and ski resort QT Falls Creek, with other hotels flagged to open within the next two years.
