Spicers Retreats this week announced the acquisition of Sangoma Retreat, a luxury boutique property situated at the foot of the Blue Mountains.
Sangoma, meaning ‘healer’ in Zulu, is set to open under the Spicers brand in January 2015, bringing the group’s portfolio to a total of nine properties.
The African-inspired boutique retreat is nestled in the Blue Mountains and features five luxurious suites sprawled amid giant boulders and eucalyptus trees. The retreat also boasts menus featuring locally sourced produce and bistro-style dining, a stunning plunge pool and spa facilities, and panoramic views of the valley below.
“We are delighted to add this property to our NSW offerings and there is already great synergy between the brands,” Spicers Retreats founder, Jude Turner, said.
“Sangoma already carries many of the Spicers trademarks; a unique location, effortless service, an intimate atmosphere and world class cuisine utilising regional produce. However, like other Spicers properties it has its own distinctive character, drawing on the natural rhythms of the bush.
“We were absolutely thrilled when the owners approached us and had no hesitation in expanding our portfolio to include this outstanding and award winning luxury property.”
