Outrigger Resorts representatives from Hawaii, Mauritius, the Maldives, Fiji and Thailand joined with their Australian and New Zealand counterparts for the Outrigger Resorts Global Showcase last week.
The 2015 event launched in Brisbane at Alchemy Restaurant, Eagle Street Pier followed by events at Rivers Edge Function Centre at the World Trade Centre in Melbourne, at L’Aqua Function Centre, Cockle Bay Wharf, Darling Harbour in Sydney and at the Maritime Room at the Viaduct, Auckland Marina in New Zealand.
The 21-strong delegation spoke about the hotel group’s commitment to the region, with the appointment of a new Australian sales and marketing team and Sydney sales office, as well as its intention to actively seek opportunities to re-invest in the Australian market, particularly beach-front areas.
As well as Outrigger Resorts, the Outrigger-managed OHANA Hotels, Embassy Suites, Holiday Inn and Waikiki Beach Walk brands in Hawaii were also represented.
Guests included key wholesalers and product managers, specialist travel agents, PCO’s, tourism industry partners, airlines and travel media. Outrigger Resorts communicated with almost 700 travel industry professionals during the week-long road show.
Outrigger Resorts will open the Konotta Maldives Resort located within the Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll in August, comprising 31 beachfront villas, 21 over-water villas and a Presidential Villa. The villas will be supported by a range of facilities including innovative dining concepts, a reef adventure centre and Outrigger Navasana Spa.
Guests also heard about the company’s exciting plans for future expansion into Vietnam, China and other premier beach locations worldwide.
