With major infrastructure projects planned across the country, including four new convention centres in Christchurch, Queenstown, Wellington and Auckland, New Zealand will be out in full force at the Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo (AIME) in Melbourne later this month.

Conventions & Incentives New Zealand (CINZ) and Tourism New Zealand (TNZ) are set to lead a sizable contingent of key business events operators, with CINZ chief executive, Sue Sullivan, saying she is keen to update Australian buyers.

“New Zealand is moving to the next level as it works to become a major player in the international convention business,” she says.

“We have some very exciting talking points this year.”

Key suppliers from across New Zealand joining CINZ and TNZ at AIME include: Air New Zealand, Accor Hotels New Zealand, Auckland Convention Bureau, Auckland Conventions, Venues and Events, Christchurch Convention and Exhibition Centre, Claudelands Convention Centre, Crowne Plaza Hotels and Resorts, Destination Rotorua and Venues, Hamilton and Waikato Convention Bureau, Heritage Hotels, Millennium Hotels and Resorts, SKYCITY Auckland Convention Centre, and The Langham Auckland.

A special ‘grab and go’ Kiwi express lunch will also be on offer at the New Zealand stand. Available across both days of the show, the bespoke-design lunch bag will feature local treats like a Tasti muesli bar, Phoenix Organic drink, Chocolate Fish and Pineapple Lump bars, fresh Kiwifruit, and Mainland cheese.

CINZ Australia manager, Sharon Auld, says buyers attending the show should also look out for a ‘magical’ lolly station on the 100% Pure New Zealand stand.

“Our amazing Middle Earth setting will reveal an abundance of authentic New Zealand sweets, like Pineapple Lumps, Jaffas, Perky Nanas and Chocolate Fish… Visitors will be spoilt for choice”.

Tourism New Zealand will also host the 100% Pure New Zealand Hosted Buyer Breakfast and 100% Pure New Zealand Cloudy Bay Drinks event on Wednesday, February 25. Visit the website http://www.aucklandconventions.co.nz/ for more details.
