Sue Sullivan has been named as the new CEO of Conventions and Incentives New Zealand (CINZ), replacing industry stalwart Alan Trotter as he steps down from the top job after a successful 20-year run.

sueMs Sullivan (pictured) brings to the role a strong understanding of the New Zealand tourism Industry with more than 20 years’ experience.  Her most recent role was with Tourism Holdings Limited as the General Manager Sales.  Ms Sullivan has completed a six year term on the board of the Tourism Industry Association (TIANZ) and four years as a New Zealand Backpacker, Youth and Adventure Tourism Association (BYATA) board member.

Ms Sullivan’s industry experience includes sales, marketing and operations both in New Zealand and Australia in visitor attractions and transport.  She’s worked extensively in market and product development in the core traditional markets of Australia, North America, Europe and the UK.

More recently, with changing market dynamics, Ms Sullivan focused on South East Asia and China and the considerable opportunities within tourism to the free independent traveller (FIT), and group market.

Ms Sullivan holds an MBA from Massey University.  She is married with three teenage children and lives in Auckland.

Ms Sullivan will take up the role as CEO with CINZ on June 3 and will be with the CINZ Team attending Meetings in Auckland from 17 to 19 June 2014.
