Thousands flock to SCG for new-look Mardi Gras parade

On Saturday night around 36,000 spectators and 5000 participants took to the Sydney Cricket Ground for the annual Mardi Gras parade. This was the first time the event had taken place outside Oxford Street in Sydney since its 1978 inception. The socially-distanced and ticketed event was modified to align with Covid-19 restrictions, with the venue operating at a capacity limit of 75 per cent. All attendees had their temperatures checked before entering the stadium and were urged to remain in their seats.

A decent alternative but we'll all be keen to see it return to the streets next year.
