SINGAPORE – TravelRave 2012, Asia’s annual travel trade festival, kicked off this week with a successful start; proving once again that Asia continues its lead in the growth of travel and tourism globally.
Even with the challenging economies of Europe and America, Asia proves its resilience and favourable growth opportunities. In fact, this same economic condition appears to work to the favour of Asia, as Singapore Tourism Board Director of Exhibitions and Conferences, Andrew Phua, shared with micenet ASIA. “We have not seen any effect of the current economic problems in Europe and America in Asia. In fact, The World Architectural Festival which has been traditionally anchored in Barcelona has relocated to Singapore for the next three years.”
Running its third year, TravelRave now brings eight travel events together: Singapore Experience Awards, Web In Travel Conference 2012, Tourism Destination Investment Conference Asia 2012, Asia Travel Leaders Summit, Hotel Technology Conference 2012, Aviation Outlook Asia, ITB Asia and World Travel Awards.
“Behind the diverse markets of Asia lie unique demands, motivations, and preferences of increasingly sophisticated Asian consumers. Hence, TravelRave is that one platform where travel and tourism industry members can come together to exchange in-depth knowledge that will help to build stronger businesses and inspire the creation of targeted products and services for the Asian market,” says Singapore Tourism Board (STB) chief executive, Lionel Yeo.
