Business Events Perth has announced the extension of its Events Here Now fund which encourages and supports intrastate businesses events.
It’s a boost for Western Australian business events sector with the funding extended for a further six months. All types of business events may qualify including conferences, exhibitions or trade shows, workshops, and seminars as well as corporate meetings and incentive group events with a business event program rewarding high-performing staff. Events must new and in-person and held before 31 December 2021.
The fund provides up to $15 a delegate to a maximum of $10,000 and can be put towards business event costs such as catering, audio visual equipment, venue hire and other approved costs.
Business Events Perth Chief Executive Gareth Martin said feedback on the funding opportunity, which has been running since August last year, had been overwhelmingly positive.
“So far, Business Events Perth has supported 202 State-based events through the Event Here Now initiative and clients have told us that without this sponsorship, their events would not have been able to proceed with certainty, if at all, so we are thrilled to have made a difference,” said Martin.
“While there are positive signs for the local industry, with the lifting of local venue capacity restrictions, we’re aware that the transition ahead will be challenging, so we’re extending our support to the end of this year.”
The fund has helped more than 100,000 delegates come together across the state to date.
