Following the appointment of Merivale as the exclusive catering provider at the just-opened Allianz Stadium in inner-city Sydney, as well as the Sydney Cricket Ground in 2021, Venues NSW has teamed up with another icon of Sydney’s dining scene for two more of its stadia in Sydney’s west.
The government venues group has appointed Matt Moran – the celebrity chef and restaurateur behind the likes of Aria Sydney and Chiswick – as culinary ambassador for CommBank Stadium and Accor Stadium where he will curate menus for the corporate hospitality offering at both stadia, as well as influencing the food and beverage offering across the general admission areas of the stadium.
Moran said he was “excited by the challenge” of bringing his fresh and seasonal produce philosophy to life in the stadium setting, for sports matches, concerts and business events.
Venues NSW CEO Kerrie Mather indicated Moran’s appointment was part of a major overhaul of the stadium experience.
“This is an important step in expanding NSW’s world-leading hospitality offerings into our major stadiums,” said Mather.
“I can’t wait to see Matt and his team deliver the best food and beverage experiences at NSW’s biggest sporting events and concerts.”
CEO of both CommBank Stadium and Accor Stadium Daryl Kerry was enthused for how Moran could help elevate the culinary offering at the two stadiums.
“Matt Moran is an Australian food icon who has a real passion for delivering exceptional culinary experiences and we believe he can help us achieve a new level of in-stadium food offerings while showcasing the best of NSW produce,” Kerry said.
