Spectacular suites at Sebel Pier One

The Sebel Pier One Sydney located in Walsh Bay adjacent to the historic Rocks precinct, has unveiled seven of the city’s most spectacular over-water suites with peerless views of Australia’s most iconic landmarks including Luna Park, the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. Perched on-and-over Sydney Harbour, the hotel’s seven new suites have been designed by internationally renowned firm Bates Smart Architects and include four Harbour View Balcony Suites which have direct access to private, expansive balconies with sweeping Sydney Harbour views. The largest balcony measures an impressive 40square metres which juts out over the pier and makes for an ideal setting for private alfresco dining, sunset drinks or simply taking in the beauty of Sydney Harbour. All the balcony suites have designer day beds and arm chairs which are positioned to maximise the panoramic views. All feature king size beds, a marble topped wet bar with Nespresso coffee machine, marble topped working desk, two LED flat screen TVs, and WiFi internet access. As well as the new suites, The Sebel Pier One Sydney has also finished renovating 22 new Waterside King and Heritage King rooms which now takes the hotel’s total room count to 189. New centre for Auckland

SkyCity has reached an agreement with the New Zealand government to build a new convention centre in Auckland in exchange for extending its casino licence and allowing it to increase gaming tables and poker machines. SkyCity will contribute $315 million to build the new facility which is expected to generate in excess of $100 million for the city per annum. The venue will have the capacity to seat up to 3500 people. Conventions & Incentives New Zealand chief executive, Alan Trotter said a new international-standard convention centre will have a positive impact that extends far beyond the boundaries of Auckland. “Many of the delegates who will attend conferences and conventions at the international convention centre will also take the opportunity to travel to other parts of New Zealand so the spin-offs will be felt across the country,” he said.
