Tourism Australia has not been immune to the effects of the coronavirus crisis, with much of its marketing activity currently on pause.
However, as managing director Phillipa Harrison confirmed in a statement this week, a lot of work is continuing behind the scenes. This includes training Aussie Specialist Agents in key markets, creating new content for online platforms, working with journalists on a range of media stories and continuing with social media activity.
Its weekly webinar series is also continuing, and last week almost 200 people tuned in for the session with tourism minister Simon Birmingham and deputy chief medical officer Dr Nick Coatsworth. The next webinar will feature prime minister Scott Morrison, who will provide an update on Australia’s response to the coronavirus.
