With the horn to The Invictus Games just days away from sounding, the team at Sydney Showground is ready to rumble with its medal-worthy plan to host competitors. From today, The Dome will be transformed into Invictus Games House, a home away from home for more than 500 service men and women and 1000 of their friends and family.

Over the past five months, a team led by head of catering and customer service for Sydney Showground Dwane Goodman has devised a menu with consideration to competitors’ religious and cultural sensitivities – including preparing certain meals in separate buildings – and to the dietary challenges resulting from military service. Over 100 staff are expected to deliver around 52,000 meals during the Games, and, on top of that, the venue will concurrently host two other major events. Wowee.
