The 13th Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW 2020) scored a few unusual firsts. Proceeding under slightly relaxed COVID-19 restrictions, it was the first MICE event in Singapore’s ‘new normal’ allowing up to 250 participants on site. It also piloted pre-event coronavirus testing for all attendees.
Held at Sands Expo and Convention Centre from October 26 to 30, SIEW 2020 was organised by the Energy Market Authority. It attracted more than 30 government ministers and 300 speakers globally, and up to 250 participants on site. Some 20,000 people from more than 80 countries viewed it online.
Highlights included the first Singapore-IEA Global Ministerial Conference on System Integration of Renewables in Asia and inaugural S&P Global Platts LNG & Hydrogen Gas Markets Asia Conference. On social media, the #SIEW2020 hashtag trended number one on Twitter Singapore on the opening day, October 26.
