P&O Cruises’ latest and largest ship in its fleet, Pacific Explorer, is taking corporate group bookings for year-round cruises from Sydney following a multi-million-dollar refurbishment. The 77,000-tonne Pacific Explorer was transformed after spending 12-days in dry dock where she was fitted with a host of new onboard features.

The Marquee Showlounge is the ship’s largest conference space accommodating 540 guests and by night, plays host to two brand new stage shows – a high energy rock show and an opulent Gatsby-themed production featuring a cast of 10 talented performers.

Pacific Explorer’s second theatre, Black Circus, is home to P&O’s new spiegel tent-inspired show ‘Love Riot’. The unsurpassed 90-minute entertainment experience has been created by internationally acclaimed producer Scott Maidment whose credits include Blanc De Blanc, Limbo, Fear and Delight.

P&O Cruises corporate groups sales manager, Rebecca Mutanen, said Pacific Explorer had all the right ingredients for a modern conference, meeting or incentive at sea.

“P&O’s sister ships Pacific Eden and Pacific Aria offer three dedicated conference venues while Pacific Explorer has two large theatres and smaller venues making her ideal for flexible conferences. The ship is also the perfect incentive and we’ve already seen several large organisations secure their cruise for next year,” she said.

“Pacific Explorer has something for every size of organisation, from a short three to four-night SeaBreak to longer getaways to the South Pacific Islands which have really resonated with incentive groups.

“There are more than 60 onboard activities to do every day designed to keep guests entertained for hours and many opportunities for team building.”

Pacific Explorer boasts unique team-building experiences including an outdoor lawn bowling green, the P&OEdge Adventure Park with a flying fox, walk the plank and segways, and the longest and wildest waterslides on an Australian cruise ship.

Groups can choose from 15 different dining outlets on-board including two new ‘fast-casual’ options: Luke’s, a poolside grill by Australian chef and restaurateur Luke Mangan; and 400 Gradi, a traditional Neapolitan pizzeria by award-winning Melbourne chef Johnny Di Francesco.

Offering cuisine for all tastes, guests can dine in the ship’s Waterfront Restaurant, try a taste of la dolce vita in its Italian restaurant Angelo’s, relax in the sultry atmosphere of the pan-Asian restaurant Dragon Lady, or be spoilt for choice in The Pantry, an international marketplace of nine fresh food outlets already popular across the P&O Cruises’ fleet.

Smaller groups can relax and bond in Pacific Explorer’s elegant new small bar, The Bonded Store, featuring a cocktail list created in partnership with Sydney-based award-winning Archie Rose Distilling Co.

Pacific Explorer is the latest addition to P&O Cruises’ corporate group offering which launched in 2015 with the introduction of Pacific Eden and Pacific Aria.
