Last Friday a NSW Public Health Order came into effect which is permitting corporate events with up to 150 people per space, provided there are four sqm per person.
Tourism Accommodation Australia (TAA) has acknowledged the “small win” for the NSW hotel sector, with CEO Michael Johnson describing the change as a silver lining for hotels with prominent event spaces.
“This will allow larger hotels to have conferences in separate areas as long as they adhere to their COVID-Safe Plans, such as Hygiene Marshalls, social distancing and taking details of guests,” he said.
“It is a small win but anything we can do to provide jobs at the moment is appreciated.”
