The Northern Territory Government is now accepting applications for the sixth round of its Visitor Experience Enhancement Program (VEEP) which offers financial support to tourism operators to upgrade their facilities or offerings.

There is $1 million up for grabs in the current round of funding, with businesses able to access between $30,000 and $100,000 in matched funding to improve the experience for visitors.

The guidelines of the program indicate applications can be made to upgrade facilities for business events visitors.

Grants can also be used to develop new products and experiences.

Following an investment specifically in the Central Australia visitor economy, operators in that region are also being strongly encouraged to apply for funding through the VEEP.

“We will always back our hard working tourism industry, and VEEP is back for another round of grants that will create positive promotion of our amazing destination, the Northern Territory,” said the NT’s Minister for Tourism and Hospitality, Nicole Manison.

“This program will encourages visitors to the Northern Territory, which not only strengthens our tourism industry, but creates local jobs and boosts the entire economy by ensuring operators use local suppliers.”

In the first five rounds of funding for the program $6.9 million has been allocated to improve the Northern Territory’s offering to visitors.

Applications close on April 14, 2023, with projects to be completed by April 30, 2024.
