Nell Harrison has been appointed managing director of The Association Specialists (TAS) effective January 1, 2021. Passing on the baton is Francis Child, owner of TAS, who will take on the role of executive chair.

Mr Child said he is proud of the team’s dedication to upholding the values of the company, particularly through the challenges of 2020. He said this commitment has placed TAS in a strong position for 2021 and beyond.

“I am proud of the business and team I have built over the last 20 years. We have stayed true to what we have always been about: client satisfaction and adding value, and I know TAS is in great hands with Nell and her leadership team,” he said.

“Last year provided us with the time to step back and critically assess how we operate as a company, revisit the structure and gain a better understanding of the skill sets within our team to ensure we continue to align our services with the growing needs of our clients.

“Nell has been a leading contributor to the ongoing success of the business and her dedication, passion and expertise have been integral to overcoming the challenges of the last 12 months for both clients and the team at TAS. Nell completely warrants her promotion into her new role and I look forward to continuing to work closely with her to drive TAS toward further success.”

Incoming managing director for TAS Nell Harrison has more than 20 years’ experience in conferences, events, association management, sponsorship and marketing, and has worked at TAS on all facets of the business for 12 years.

“I am honoured to be the managing director of a company whose core values are fundamental to what I believe in. I will continue the business focus, delivering quality services for clients and ensuring our team is the best there is, to deliver those services.

“We have established a new leadership team to help steer our highly motivated specialists to deliver exceptional results in the challenging environment. Our presence across Sydney, Perth and Melbourne are essential, however the objective of the new organisational structure is to focus on the specialist services and skills we provide to our clients no matter where we deliver them from.

“I am delighted to be leading the business as we work to guide associations through the next era, helping them to re-engage members, maximise their reach and influence, and deliver exceptional benefits and value to their members. The future is bright.”

In 2020, TAS continued to deliver services to more than 70 national associations and assisted in the management of more than 200 meetings and events for its clients both face-to-face and online.
