The MEETINGS programme is expanding this year to offer new networking and professional development opportunities for delegates.

For the first time MEETINGS is staging an exclusive MasterClass for leading PCOs and event managers, including a two-hour session with international presenter and author, Jonar Nader.

While the two-day event facilitates thousands of scheduled business appointments, MEETINGS event manager, Jeanette Stanton, says the event’s eagerly anticipated social programme is just as important.

“Our social programme gives our hosted buyers and exhibitors a chance to network informally as well as to experience some of our great venues, sample top New Zealand cuisine, see creative event design and theming, and enjoy some fabulous entertainment,” Ms Stanton says.

MEETINGS Mix and Mingle, is another new addition to the programme this year, where hosted buyers and exhibitors can enjoy drinks and nibbles around the regions on the show floor after the exhibition closes on Wednesday June 18.

“We wanted to give people free time in a relaxed setting to reconnect over a glass of wine after a busy day,” Ms Stanton says.

MEETINGS social events kick off on June 17 with a welcome function hosted by Pullman Auckland Hotel in the impressive Princes Ballroom.

During the show, day buyers will be treated to a gourmet lunch hosted by Millennium Hotels and Resorts, followed by Celebrity Speakers’ Speaker Showcase.

Rounding up the event, Auckland’s Viaduct Events Centre has been chosen as the venue for MEETINGS’ farewell dinner.

“Our sponsors are pulling out all the stops to make this a truly spectacular night. We’re very excited about what is in store,” Ms Stanton says.

MEETINGS 2014 will be held at Auckland’s ASB Showgrounds on June 18-19. For more information visit: www.meetings.co.nz
