Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews announced yesterday that all areas of regional Victoria except for Greater Shepparton, will come out of lockdown at midnight tonight, however plenty of restrictions will remain in place.
“It’s not a snapback, it’s not Freedom Day, it’s not 100 per cent of capacity down at the pub. It can’t be,” said Andrews when announcing the changes.
Relaxed restrictions include residents will be able to leave home for any reason and free travel will be allowed throughout regional parts of the state. Hospitality venues will be able to open with a limit of 10 people inside and 20 outside.
Business events venues will also be permitted to operate, but with only 20 people per space.
Most students will still be learning from home with only those in Prep to Year 2, Year 12 and Year 11 students studying Year 12 subjects returning to the classroom. Visitors to your house will still not be permitted.
