Luke Mangan will expand his presence in Sydney’s luxury hotels, with the famous Australian restaurateur and chef set to open the next iteration of Luke’s Kitchen in the lobby of the first Kimpton hotel in Australia, in central Sydney.
Kimpton Sydney is taking over what was Primus Hotel Sydney, located in a heritage-listed 1930s Art Deco building on Pitt Street, just 12 minutes’ walk from ICC Sydney.
“What draws me to Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants is its bespoke offering to guests coupled with heartfelt service. The location of Kimpton Sydney is superb with its blend of nightlife from neighbouring Chinatown and Darlinghurst and independent spirit from the nearby Surry Hills, all brought to life in this incredible building that’s connected to Sydney’s heritage.”
“It felt like a perfect opportunity to not only re-invigorate Luke’s Kitchen but also create a range of innovative culinary experiences that are built on Kimpton’s legacy of locally loved restaurants,” said Mangan.
Mangan is already at the helm of restaurant Glass Brasserie at Hilton Sydney, just a few streets away.
Kimpton Sydney, currently undergoing a “detail-oriented refresh” is set to open this year, and will also feature a 1930s-style cocktail bar, a wine cellar offering bespoke tasting experiences and a rooftop poolside bar.
