The mega conference and global marketplace for Australia’s film industry will return to the Gold Coast in May 2023 after a successful season of events this year.

Event organiser, Screen Producers Australia (SPA) has named the industry leaders sitting on two advisory boards for SCREEN FOREVER 37, which will be run May 3-5, 2023, followed by an Online Global Market May 9-10, 2023.

The highly commercial event format that combines face to face and online attracts the big names from Australia and overseas for all forms of screen production.

CEO of Screen Producers Australia Matthew Deaner said Screen Forever has always been an event for the entire screen sector.

“By utilising two boards which are truly representative of the full production life-cycle, from investors to producers, distributors, broadcasters, streamers, and emerging platforms, we are able to build a robust program with real business outcomes,” he said.

The SPA said the two advisory boards will help to frame the program.

“The new Program Advisory Board will help set the strategic direction for Australia’s premier screen industry and aid in the creation of an engaging, inspirational and business-focused program, while the Market Advisory Board will help maximise the financing, distribution, and co-production opportunities at the SPA Connect Market.”

Among the advisors are Anthony Kimble, founder of Arrested Industries, from the USA, Brian Walsh, the Foxtel Group head of content, Courtney Gibson, Screen Queensland CEO, Angela Bates from Screen Australia and Rachel Higgins of Birdcage Films.

The event will be held at The Star Event Centre at Broadbeach.

The federal government, Queensland government and City of Gold Coast council are major backers of the event as part of their goal to grow the Australian screen industry.
