With its pristine diving waters, lush forests, and rich culture, Sabah is a whole world of untainted natural beauty waiting to be discovered.
Day one
A trip to the Mari Mari Cultural Village provides a memorable experience into the ethnic cultures of Sabah. Showcasing seven of the biggest tribes in Sabah, the cultural village is a gateway to the traditions of tribes, from traditional attire and food to the design of their homes. After a two-hour tour, savour some local dishes at a high tea session.
After the half-day cultural village tour, enjoy some shopping around the KK town. Drop by the handicraft market, which sells an array of handicrafts made out of natural materials. The pearls are often a “must have” among visitors.
End the day with a seafood feast at Kampung Nelayan for a delectable spread of seafood, accompanied by a cultural dance performance.
Day two
Now it’s time for some fun in the sun. Head over to Manukan Island for a team-building session and be treated to a sumptuous barbeque lunch. Spend the rest of the day enjoying the beachfront, with fun water sports such as the banana boat, parasailing, and snorkelling.
It’s now time for dinner (Sabahans love to eat, and so will you). Stop by the Shangri-La Tanjung Aru for an evening cocktail, while catching the majestic sunset from the Sunset Bar before dinner. Groups looking for themed dinners can look no further, with the in-house events team ready to provide a selection of captivating local themes.
Day three
A trip to Sabah is never complete without a nature encounter. The Klias wetlands is a great location to experience an evening river cruise, with a chance to catch a glimpse of the Bornean endemic, Proboscis monkey.
