Tourism Portfolio has appointed Sharon Levingston as General Manager of the sales representation business for the business events sector.
Levingston joins the company with experience across the events and tourism sectors including in corporate travel, sporting groups, hospitality management and wholesale and retail travel sales. Most recently, she was General Manager of Events at The Events Authority.
Tourism Portfolio Managing Director Donna Kessler praised Levingston as a strong networker and a details person who “thrives” on the fast pace of the business events industry.
“Sharon is a true leader who believes outcomes are best achieved by bringing people on the journey with you and is personally committed to building trusted relationships for the long term,” she said.
And in case you missed her new role reveal at the launch of Watersedge at Campbell’s Stores last week, Tina Eggers has joined The Venues Collection as their Director of Business Development, taking up the role in early May.
Previously, Eggers was with ICC Sydney as Senior Manager of National Business Development for more than six years, from pre-opening through to the venue’s first years of operation.
And Business Events Sydney’s new Board appointment reinforces its commitment to the international market, as it welcomes Jason Collins as an Independent Director.
Collins is CEO of the European Australian Business Council, Chair of the European Business Organisations Worldwide, Director of Matrix Corporate Marketing, and Deputy Chair of the Australia Youth Trust.
“Jason adds tremendous value to our organisation in the incredibly competitive international bidding environment, with strong government and trade global connectivity, particularly within Europe,” said BESydney Chair Bruce Baird AM.
