INDIA – InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has recently launched its sixth Crowne Plaza hotel in the South West Asia region in the Indian city of Kochi.
The 269-room Crowne Plaza Kochi is said to boast the largest events space in the city, with 14 meeting rooms totalling 24,000 square feet.
It offers Crowne Plaza’s signature meetings experience, which includes a two-hour response guarantee, a professional Crowne Meetings director assigned, and an itemised account of expenditure after each day to track costs.
Terry Austen, general manager of Crowne Plaza Kochi, told micenet Asia that the new property has dedicated MICE services because India is starting to emerge as a MICE destination.
“[This] can be attributed to improved domestic and international air travel, as well as the development of many new world-class convention centres, hotels and meeting facilities,” he said.
The property also comprises 14 suites, an outdoor swimming pool and spa, and dining options. It is located on the banks of the river at Kundannoor and along the National Highway bypass.
